MK (Bayit Yehudi) Moti Yogev feels each and every member of the cabinet should be compelled to take a polygraph exam towards determining where the source of the leak is that led to the dissemination of cabinet protocols (minutes) from a meeting during Operation Protective Edge.
Portions of minutes from a classified meeting appear in Yediot Achronot on Thursday 28 Teves, with Yogev explaining from his perspective, the content, damaging or critical as the information may be, is not as relevant as tracking down the source of the leak. Yogev is a retired IDF colonel.
He explains that disagreement and discussion are part of the cabinet and this is legitimate but leaking such information to the public is most worrisome and irresponsible.
Yogev is calling on the Prime Minister to instruct the Shin Bet to perform a polygraph exam on every minister towards uncovering who leaked the classified information to the general public.
The minutes have been new for the past days, with the nation being told Naftali Bennet was pushing Mr. Netanyahu and then Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon to address the Hamas tunnel network. Bennett was at odds with the cabinet during the military operation, so much so that he came under fire for leaking information to the public and sharing this information with the general public in the hope of earning additional popularity.
