Parents sustained serious injuries and their children were less seriously injured in a fire that broke out in an apartment on Frankfurter Street in a Ramot Jerusalem home on Friday night.
The call for the fire came in at about 2:00AM. The parents, 36 and 37-years-old, were seriously injured and their four children sustained light and moderate injuries. The injured were transported by MDA ambulances to Hadassah Ein Kerem and Shaare Zedek Hospitals.
The fire occurred on the first floor of a five-story structure, apparently caused by a belch on the gas. It appears there was a gas leak in the area of the burners which led to an accumulation of gas and then a powerful explosion, which is evident by the damage to the apartment.
United Hatzalah EMTs and paramedics were also operating on the scene, from Jerusalem provided first aid treatment to a man and a woman who were severely injured in a building fire on Frankfurter street. The volunteers also treated a man and three children for light injuries.
EMT Shuki Bakar told the media on motzei Shabbos “with the assistance of a United Hatzalah paramedic and other EMTs who live in the vicinity I provided first aid treatment for those injured all of whom were suffering from varying degrees of burns and from smoke inhalation. Firefighters were working to put out the flames and determine the cause of the fire. The nearby apartments and cars that parked in near proximity to the building suffered severe damage.”

There is a new safe blech for 110volts in America and a new
safe 230volts coming from Manchester, England in little less than a month, both do not require gas and both are safe on electricity and will cut off if heated to high. Remember the blechs of Israel are to low to a wooden or plastic counter top. You need to place 4 bricks underneath to raise the level
