A female soldier traveling on a number 422 bus Sunday morning 24 Teves, spotted an Arab male who she thought was suspicious. She explains “he was looking side to side, mumbling to himself and stood even though there were empty seats”. She decided to alert police but did so by sending a text message due to her proximity to the suspect.
The exchange below represents portions of the conversation, corresponding to the attached photos.
Message 1: I am on a 422 bus of the Afikim Company. There is a very suspicious Arab male acting strangely. There are many empty seats yet he opts to remaining standing. I am really concerned and ill at ease. I am a soldier heading to my base.
Police: Where are you?
Message 2: I do not know exactly on this road but the next stop is on Route 4, Ganot Interchange.
At 8:15AM the soldier adds “He is wearing blue jeans, a weather with wide red and grey stripes.
8:21AM: I cannot call because of my proximity to him.
8:22AM police respond: I understand and a unit is responding.
9:07AM: Thanks for your interest. I have already gotten off the bus. In the meantime, nothing happened but if something would have, it would have been a failure [by police]. I travel this bus daily for almost a year and I was never suspicious below.
9:08AM: Thank you for the report. Have a nice day.

i dont understand the headlines. it seems from the texts that the police did repond????????
She acted correctly. We are always told-“if you see something strange , say something. Fortunately nothing occurred, but better to be on the safety side than sorry.
If you look at the times at the end of each message you see she got off the bus an hour later and the police didn’t respond by coming to check it out
She should have told them that the Arab had a bag of burekes. They would have come right away.
