Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu shortly before Shabbos released a tweet congratulating US President Donald Trump shortly before the inauguration ceremony, as the latter was to be held after Shabbos began in Israel.

He tweeted “Congrats to my friend President Trump. Look fwd to working closely with you to make the alliance between Israel&USA stronger than ever.”

Israeli Ambassador to Washington Ron Dermer tweeted “Congratulations President Trump! Israel looks forward to working with you to make the US-Israel alliance greater than ever.”
