Israel’s Ministry of Health has issued a warning about drinking coffee in coffee shops and cafes. The report states the water emanating from the various brewing machines contains an unacceptably high level of lead, which is harmful to one’s health.
The ministry inspected hundreds of machines in Israel, reporting they fail to meet ministry standards.
Channel 2 News reported the Ministry of the Economy in conjunction with the Ministry of Health announced there is a fear of the problem from brewing machines but failing to cite the make and model numbers of the problematic ones.
The ministry is advising pregnant women to refrain from using commercial coffee machine until further notice. Health officials add it may take another month or more until there are precise details as to the makes and model numbers of problematic commercial coffee machines. For now, the ministry advises people to stop drinking coffee made from these machines.

It’s interesting that they’ve identified the brewing machines themselves rather than the fresh water plumbing or the reservoirs as the sources of the lead contamination.
In my area of the US, it’s just the opposite since the infrastructure is very old from well before lead piping for fresh water fell out of favor.
