MK (Shas) Yitzchak Vaknin, who chairs the Knesset Ethics Committee, announced on Tuesday 19 Teves that he is going to retire upon competition of his current term. He has served in Knesset since 1996.

It is known that Shas leader Minister Aryeh Deri plans to rebuild the party’s list with fresh blood, perhaps leading to Vaknin’s announcement.

During a session of the Knesset Finance Committee, Vaknin said “I can promise you one thing, blei neder, I will not be here in the next Knesset. One must know one’s limit. Blei neder”.
