The Tel Aviv District Court has approved a motion to recognize a lawsuit as a class action suit, a suit against Egged alleging the bus company hid price reductions on chareidi lines from the tzibur.
The group bringing the suit explains they have been prohibited from buying intracity bus tickets from Egged without being informed of reduced rates being available. They explain Egged has been discriminating against the chareidim as non-chareidim are aware of lower price options while the reductions were hidden from the chareidi tzibur by Egged.
According to The Market report, Egged has responded, explaining it plans to appeal the decision to recognize the lawsuit as a class action suit. The bus company adds that all information pertaining to all lines and fares is available on the company’s website for all to see.
