After coming out of the monumental Herodian structure atop the Ma’aras HaMachpelah, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said:

“We are here at the Machpelah of the Patriarchs in Hebron where our father’s fathers walked and were even buried. Lately, much has been said regarding our rights to this land, and many legal issues as well. Let us teach to those who do not know: Abraham our father, bought this place paying full price and a written dead, maybe the first of its kind in the world, and therefore it is obvious the Jewish community has every right to be here, including by purchase right. It is specifically at this time, when the UN condemns Israel’s right to build in Judea and Samaria, it is important to come here, to strengthen the Jewish community in Hebron and to proclaim that we will indeed hold the right to keep building in Yehuda and Shomron.”

The Jewish community of Hebron was honored to host the Justice Minister. Yishai Fleisher, International Spokesman of the Jewish Community said: “Post-Zionist and global anti-Israel organizations have donned the veneer of human rights, and with that cover have put Hebron in their cross-hairs. They have set up set up shop here and attack us with constant lies, delegitimization, and incitement to terror. Incredibly, they are actually utilizing Israel’s own justice system to undermine Jewish rights. But we are confident that the Justice Minister, who has proven abilities to get things done”.
