The cabinet on Sunday 10 Teves, during its weekly session, approved four long weekends annually to improve quality of life. Hence, four weekends would be observed from Thursday to Sunday. This is the outcome of the original bill authored by MK (Kulanu) Eli Cohen, which led to recommendations for six such weekends, which the decision-makers viewed as excessive.
This will undoubtedly clash with the religious lawmakers as part of the envisioned scenario are operating tourism attractions throughout the long weekends.
The next stop for the bill is the Knesset Labor & Welfare Committee and ultimately, it will have to be approved in Knesset.

Why can’t Israel just have July 4, Memorial Day and Labor Day, like the rest of the world.
by the rest of the world you mean America, right?
