According to an IDF report, 41 soldiers died in 2016 including four killed in operations; nine in operational mishaps; seven in accidents while on leave and 15 took their own lives R”L. The remaining six died of medical issues.

Reshet Bet military correspondent Carmela Menashe reports all of the suicides were among men and not from any one population group.

Military officials are pleased that the number in 2016 represent a decline from 2015.
