The online petition states “Citizens of Israel bestow this citation on IDF soldier and hero, Sgt. Elor Azariya.
It will be presented to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu with a letter explaining why he should receive a citation and not a manslaughter conviction. The petition is the initiative of Major (reserves) Eliyahu Nissim, who signs the letter.
On Thursday morning 7 Teves there were 70,000 signatures.
