Egged officials have kept their word and they have launched the one-day warning strike which has brought all Egged bus service in the capital to a halt.
The Jerusalem light rail is running, providing an alternate for some but many tens of thousands of commuters are without a way to get to work or school today, Wednesday, 6 Teves.
Egged officials apologize to the public, explaining during the past two months they have done everything possible to reach agreement but the government representatives are not showing any flexibility.

In New York, leaders of public employees who strike go to jail and the union is fined a million dollars a day. That is a model of what should happen here.
Egged should lose their contract and the Israel government should allow fair competition. In order to allow fair competition, Egged employees should be in jail for a couple of weeks otherwise they will intimidate any competition as the past has shown. Can we send Egged officials to school to learn how to run a company profitably?
Maybe it’s time to get rid of Egged and have different bus lines that are more oriented towards customer service!People are tried of waiting for buses that come every 40-45 minutes instead of the scheduled every 10-15 especially the lines that go to religious neighborhoods.
