A 29-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, Tuesday morning.
The NYPD tells YWN that at approximately 6:45AM, 911 received calls reporting a pedestrian struck at Kings Highway and Nostrand Avenue – within the confines of the 61st Precinct.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a 29-year-old female lying in the roadway with serious injuries.
EMS transported the female to Beth Israel Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
A preliminary investigation reveals that the female attempted to cross Nostrand Avenue as an unidentified white SUV struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. Subsequently, a school bus attempting make a left turn onto Nostrand Avenue from Kings Highway, struck the pedestrian but remained on scene.
There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad.
The identification of the deceased has been identified by the NYPD as Hermanda Booker, of Avenue N in Brooklyn.
