As the sixth yahrzeit of Rosh Yeshivas HaNegev HaGaon HaRav Yissocher Meyer ZT”L, Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita was scheduled to give a shiur in his memory. Unfortunately, the yeshiva is in the midst of a power struggle for future control and this embarrassment led to the cancelation of the Rishon L’Tzion for the event.
The first notification on the yeshiva bulletin board set the event for Monday 4 Teves at 19:00.
“הננו להודיע לציבור שוחרי התורה בעיר נתיבות כי ביום ב’ יתקיים שיעור מפי מרן הראשון לציון הגאון הגדול רבי יצחק יוסף תלמיד רבינו מרן ראש הישיבה זצוק”ל בהיכל ישיבת הנגב שכר שכיר בשעה 7 בערב”.
Not too long before the shiur was to begin another notice was posted, informing the tzibur of the cancelation.
“מלשכתו של מרן הראשון לציון הגאון הגדול רבי יצחק יוסף נמסר לנו בצער כי התקבלה דרישה מנהלת עמותת ישיבת הנגב לבטל את השיעור בהיכל הישיבה”.

It’s very disheartening to see machlokes in yeshivos. Makes one question everything.

It’s interesting that you posted about Machlokes in a Yeshiva that isn’t one of “our” mainstream Yeshivos, but I don’t recall that you have ever reported about machlokes that unfortunately exists in “our” yeshivos and Chassidish courts. Is it OK to report about controversial topics connected to some Yidden, but not OK for other groups of Yidden?
I have to say I agree with some of the above sentiment. Seriously what’s the point of writing about machlokes in kalal yisrael? What do we benefit from this? It just seems like lashon hara.
For a while I wasn’t reading YWN because of the lashon hora until someone told me it got better, which seemed true for a little bit.
