Medical Director of Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak Professor Mordechai Ravid reported on Wednesday, 28 Kislev, that there is no significant improvement in the condition of HaGaon HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita since Tuesday and he remains hospitalized.

Ravid explained the rav was placed into an intensive care unit due to his and not the severity of his condition. The rav was weak and having difficulty breathing when he was taken to the hospital earlier in the week and it was determined that he was developing pneumonia. He has since been receiving pharmaceutical intervention and on assisted breathing. While his condition has improved significantly since being admitted, due to Maran’s advanced age doctors are being cautious regarding his discharge and at present, prefer to keep him under observation in a controlled environment.
