With the completion of the new Highway 1 (Jerusalem – Tel Aviv Highway) tunnel near Mevasseret Tzion, firefighters form the Beit Shemesh fire service conducted a training drill preparing for difficult scenarios working in coordination with tunnel officials.

Some of the training exercises included a fire that included vehicles blocking access to the blaze, major vehicular accidents demanding extrication of trapped passengers and transportation of injured under heavy smoke conditions out of the tunnel.
