The councilmen of the religious and chareidi parties in the Jerusalem government have signed a letter given to Mayor Nir Barkat informing him that their support for the city’s annual budget is contingent on shmiras shabbos.
The letter dated Sunday, 25 Kislev demands maintaining the city’s status quo regarding religious matters. They also demand the city refrain from funding events that include chilul Shabbos.
