The Jerusalem District Planning Board on Wednesday, 28 Kislev is expected to approve the construction of 2,600 apartments in Gilo and in the near future, an additional 2,600 apartments in Givat HaMatos and 400 in Ramat Shlomo.
Officials add the passing of UN Resolution 2334 will not halt or even delay construction plans in these areas of the capital, which the international community views as being “Israeli occupied”.
Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Meir Turgeman, who heads the committee, tells the media “I am not moved by the UN resolution or others wishing to dictate our actions in Jerusalem. I hope the government and new US administration will give momentum to continue filling the gaps created during the last eight years of the Obama administration”.
