They never fail to amuse me! A sheva bracha with no kallah, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, or friends of the kallah. A sheva bracha where the chassan is not the main one we are b’simcha or b’kavod for, instead the “old man with the long white beard” is the one they choose for the center of the simcha. Humbly and respectfully, if I were a chasson in such a situation, I would decline the sheva bracha and instead spend time with my new kallah and make sure she has a respectable meal for supper and companionship.
