Rabbi Yaakov Ariel On Why The Reform Movement Is Pasul

1Chief Rabbi of Ramat Gan HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Ariel Shlita was asked to explain why the frum tzibur has disqualified the Reform Movement as a whole while “Reform” means making change as one moves ahead as is done with halacha too. The question was posed on a dati leumi website Shu’t forum.

The question posed to the rav says “It is not customary for women to wear a tallis during tefilla. Is there a halachic prohibition to this? If we as Jews are committed to halacha then why do we disqualify the Reform which moves ahead as halacha moves ahead?

The rav explains that reform can be positive, moving forward, but there can also be a negative aspect, moving backwards and this is negative.

Rav Ariel added “Yahadut years for the redemption of the world with the Beis Hamikdash in the center in line with the prophecy of Yeshayahu, but the Reform have rejected this idea from their siddur, rejecting Zionism and the Mikdosh. What meaning does the Kosel have for them?”

  1. Very strange
Is this the only problem with reform?
    Rejection of Toiro min hashomayim
Rejection of belief in the coming of Moshiach
    Etc etc
These are reason enough to Passel reform

  2. The Reform movement doesn’t follow Torah laws or Rabbinical laws and therefore no different than Xanity. Are there even 10% authentic Jews in the Reform movement?
