Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott were on hand to observe a training operation involving the Harel and Merom Fox reserve duty brigades taking place in the Tzeilim training base. The senior officials also spoke with some of the troops involved in the drill.

Eizenkott was briefed by IDF Southern District Commander Major-General Eyal Zamir and the Sinai Outpost Commander, Brigadier-General Saar Tzur.
