The Belzer Rebbe Shlita has given instructions to his followers to join Gerre Chassidim in the battle against Arad City Hall. It appears Minister Yaakov Litzman (Gur) made a deal with MK Yisrael Eichler (Belz) in which Belz will assist Gur in Arad in exchange for Gerre Chassidim assisting Belz with its difficulties with Haifa City Hall.
Admorim this past Shabbos announced chassidim are to take part in protests in during the week, explaining the frum community in Arad is being persecuted. According to a report appearing in the Sunday 18 Kislev edition of Hamodia, which is affiliated with Agudas Yisrael, in addition to Gerre and Belz; Vishnitz, Sanz, Seret-Vishnitz, Moditz, Sadigura, Biala, Spinka, Pittsburg, Erlau, Strikov, Bobov, Amshinov, Biala, Breslov and Chanichei Yeshivos are on board. Boyan has yet to announce its decision.
Protests announced for this week include:
- Bnei Brak, Tuesday, at 13:30 on Chazon Ish Street from Admor of Gur to Nechemia
- Ashdod: Wednesday, 15:00, on HaRav Levine Street
- Yerushalayim: Thursday, 15:30, on Malchei Yisrael Street

The article really isn’t very helpful in terms of understanding how these chassidus are being “persecuted”. Exactly what are they protesting?
This is a political ploy…. to win unearned property.
The Bostoner Rebbe of Yerushalayim Shlita has also announced that he has instructed his Chassidim to come out in force to back up Gur in this fight. The Gerrer Rebbe is known to have extremely close personal ties to the Bostoner Rebbe Shlita and, so it is reported from the Boston headquarters, made a secret visit to the Bostoner Rebbe asking for his assistance.

#1 it’s quite simple. They are protesting that the Arad religious community does not want to hand over their main Ashkenazic shul into the hands of the Gur Chassidim and that the Mayor supports the rights of his citizens. MK Litzman is making a global war since his “brothers”
Since these posts regarding ARAD, GUR, SHUL, etc. appeared, I’ve learnt something very distressing – that a lack of Justice & accuracy is reported when the ISSUE is particular Charedim regarding any other religious group.

Does the Belz & Bostoner Rebbeim have messengers that check out the info, visit or call individuals or the Mayor in ARAD or is the game……of politics the culprit in ever machlokes & destruction of Hashem’s name. SHAME! SHAME!
Based on the prior YWN articles, its seems like the Gur and Belzer rabbonim are grossly misinformed and a shul that rightfully belongs to ALL ydden in Arad has been effectively expropriated for the use of these Chassidus. What was the legal basis for the mayor to change the status quo??
