The 2017-2018 biennial state budget includes a 2.5% salary increase for Members of Knesset. The increase will not be for cabinet ministers, but only MKs. Others marked for raises include the President and judges with raises fluctuating between NIS 1,000 to NIS 1,480 monthly starting in January 2017.
If the raises are granted, President Rivlin will be earning NIS 60,768 a month and MKs will be earning NIS 41,525 monthly. The opposition leader will also receive a raise to earn NIS 47,825 a month and Speaker Yuli Edelstein will be up to NIS 50,225 monthly. Supreme Court President Miriam Maor will earn NIS 45,932, while Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s salary will remain NIS 47,485, half of which pays for his armored vehicle. Deputy Ministers remain at NIS 40,525 and Ministers at NIS 43,534.
