Hundreds have commented on social media including the new Facebook page set up to declare “I too will not evacuate Amona”, clearing wishing to send a clear message to military officials. The court-ordered evacuation deadline is December 25, 2016, the first day of Chanukah.
One post says “Good morning. We start the day with the 605th Engineering Battalion announcing it will not take part in an evacuation of Amona, refusing to take part.” Another speaks in the name of 9th Brigade as well as Duchifat, but all posts are anonymous.
In the meantime, the force that will be evacuating has prepared, members of Israel Police who were using an IDF training facility to drill the operation, as reported by YWN-ISRAEL.
