Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has described President-elect Donald Trump as being a personality that has “no precedent in modern American history,” but cautioned against judging him on his campaign rhetoric.
The Nobel Peace laureate says that before “postulating an inevitable crisis,” the new administration should be given a chance to present its international policies, despite the “rhetorical elements … (and) challenging patterns” presented during Trump’s campaign.
Kissinger, who was awarded the 1973 peace prize, was speaking Sunday at the newly-established Nobel Peace Prize Forum Oslo.
He shared the award with Vietnamese politician and diplomat Le Duc Tho for their efforts in negotiating the Paris Peace Accords aimed at ending the Vietnam War. Tho, however, declined the award.

Because he has no precedent in modern America he is one of the only ones who is honest and has strength to say the truth without any fear of being judged.
Does anyone know his Hebrew name and those of his parents? I know someone who grew up with him in Germany and remembers young “Heinz” as a kenoi in Zeirei Aguda. His parents were frum Washington Heights Yekkis all their lives and it’s not clear just when he went off the derech, though he did sit shiva for his father while he was National Security Adviser. A Jew even though he’s sinned is still a Jew and we should be davening for him. Does anyone know his Hebrew name? There should be a website somewhere with such info about all well known Jews, does anyone know of one?

Someone going OTD can still have feelings and loyalty to the Jewish people.

He advised Nixon to ignore the plight of Soviet Jewry, they didn’t fit into his realpolitik. Turned his back on his brothers & sisters, Washington Hts. notwithstanding.
He also advised Nixon against sending military help to Israel during the Yom Kippur War. Nixon, not a great Jew lover ( thought they were all libs) to his everlasting credit and zichro letovah , ordered the Defense Dept. to basically rush everything & anything.
Golda & Nixon had a warm relationship ad Nixon sent her tons & tons of war materiel via huge cargo during Israel’s desperate hours.
Who can forget that?
Heinz from Pirchei Agudah on the other hand, did everything to undermine it, falsely blaming it on Def. Sect. Schlesinger . Nixon would have none of it and kept the planes flying, loaded to the hilt every few hours.
Though he betrayed his own people, it didn’t stop the lib yentas, both male & female , to give him honors and awards in later years.
