Attorneys representing Mrs. Sara Netanyahu are calling on Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to launch a probe into Israel Police leaks to the media regarding questioning of their client by members of the department’s Lahav 443 unit for twelve hours one day last week. A similar complaint was filed with the Justice Ministry’s Police Internal Investigations Unit, pointing out leak is nothing less than obstruction of justice and interfering with an ongoing investigation. They point out that reports Mrs. Netanyahu is being investigated for alleged breach of trust and submitting false document in her running of the Prime Minister’s Residents are false, adding the reports also allege she used state funds for private use and this too is not true.
The attorneys point out the leaks were sent to Channel 10 News and then Ynet and by the time their client arrived at the 443 Unit Headquarters for questioning there was a barrage of photographers waiting. They blame Channel 10 correspondent Baruch Kra for then creating a media frenzy around the questioning. They add that during a Friday night broadcast of Channel 2 News, crime correspondent Moshe Nussbaum read from “falsified transcripts” of the ongoing probe, quoting Mrs. Netanyahu saying things that she never said.
They explained there can be no doubt the leak came from police as only senior commanders involved in the case have access to the documents in question, adding the actions of those responsible for the leaks are a violation of the penal code.

Police leaks not worth much. If we can get WikiLeaks to reveal the corruption of the Israeli government and Judicial Court that would be worth their report in gold.
