The Jerusalem district prosecutor moved ahead with its lawsuit seeking to recoup NIS 52 million from members of the Kehillos Masmidim and the NGO operated by them. Eleven members of the NGO were indicted a few years ago and the state is now trying to recoup the money embezzled by the defendants. The lawsuit was filed on Sunday, 26 Cheshvan.
Indictments were filed against the members of the NGO and now the state moved ahead with its lawsuit, seeking to recoup the money. Those convicted in the case submitted fictitious documents to the Ministry of Education and received monetary aid for Torah institutions that simply did not exist.
Those responsible for the fraud submitted names of 1,650 fictitious talmidim to receive money from state agencies. The state is now going after the money, which it is demanding back.

and what about genaivah?
With 1,650 fictitious “talmidim” and the upright financial office personnel, who exactly is learning, and where are those two masmidim that the Kehila is named after?
