France Drops The Idea Of A Peace Summit To Jumpstart Talks Between Israel And The PA

bibFrance some time ago announced a regional peace summit towards renewing diplomatic talks between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority). Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu thanked France on a number of occasions but signaled Israel was not interested in the initiative, explaining Israel and the PA must work out their issues one on one, inviting PA Chairman Abu Mazen to return to the negotiating table without preconditions. This is yet to occur.

France has finally dropped the idea of the summit, apparently in response to the election of President-elect Donald Trump and not Hillary Clinton. Aware Trump does not share the views of the democratic party vis-à-vis the diplomatic process with the PA, France has apparently arrived at the conclusion a major participant in the summit, the United States, may not hold the same views as the outgoing administration has during the past eight years.

The report is based on Arabic media reports quoting French sources.

  1. Good news, but sad that France dropped the idea merely due to Trump’s election and not because of realization that the Arabs aren’t, and we’re never interested, in peace.

  2. #2 Mitoch shelo lishma ba lishma, doing it without the proper intent, will get him to do it with proper intent. Trump will not only make America great again, but other countries will learn the trick of the trade too while the US President will get the respect back again in the world.
