The family of Sgt. Oron Shaul HY”D turned to the High Court of Justice on Sunday 13 Cheshvan, seeking the court’s intervention to compel the cabinet to move ahead and implement its own decision. The petition is filed on behalf of Lt. Hadar Goldin HY”D as well, as the remains of both soldiers are being held by Hamas.
The petition cites that there has been a decision by the Security Cabinet to constantly address the matter of missing and captive soldiers and attorneys Yishai Sarid and Neria HaRoeh point out that the cabinet decision to establish a task force and convene it “without delay” and this is yet to occur.
The petition explains the families cannot accept such a reality, that the cabinet sits by and fails to implement its own decision as their expense, citing the Security Cabinet last June reached the decision to establish a ministerial task force to address the matter.
