The senior Sderot City Hall officials were arrested along with a senior Sderot Religious Council official following an investigation into alleged corruption.

According to police, the suspects allegedly defrauded the city and religious council by submitting falsified bills and billing for fictitious services in addition to other white collar crimes related to their actions. The offices and homes of the suspects were searched by police.

They were arraigned on Monday 13 Cheshvan in the Beersheva Magistrate Court at which time the prosecution requested to extend their remand.
