Fox News now projects that Democratic Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth of Illinois will unseat Republican Senator Mark Kirk, giving Democrats a key pickup tonight. Remember, Democrats need four to five pickups — depending on who is elected president — to take control of the Senate.

Fox also projects that Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, will win a second term by defeating Republican Dan Carter.

And in Maryland,Democrat Chris Van Hollen will beat Republican Congresswoman Kathy Szeliga in the race to succeed retiring Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski.

In Oklahoma, Republican Senator James Lankford will win reelection by beating Democratic challenger Mike Workman.

Let’s turn now to Delaware, Fox News can now project that Democrat John Carney — a former aide to Vice President Joe Biden — will defeat Republican Colin Bonini to become the state’s next governor, according to exit polls and partial vote returns.
