A 70-year-old Jewish man was attacked on Rue de la Paix Street in Strasbourg earlier this week in near the city’s main shul. The victim, who was hit in his face and legs was wearing a yarmulke when he left the shul. The attacker shouted “dirty Jew, I’ll kill you”. It is reported a few minutes prior to the attack the attacker cursed another Jewish man who passed on a bicycle.

Peretz, the victim, told police he was jumped and knocked to the ground and hit in the face and legs. “I was full of blood” he detailed.

Passersby phoned police and interviewed witnesses to the attack. An ambulance was called to transport the Peretz to a hospital. The attacker managed to flee in a vehicle. B’chasdei Hashem the victim’s injuries were only described as light.
