Another protest took place at Kikar Shabbos in Yerushalayim on Wednesday night the eve of 2 Cheshvan. Protesters placed a large garbage dumpster in the middle of the busy intersection as well as standing in front of buses to block them.

The protest surrounded recent arrests of talmidei yeshiva by IDF authorities.

As YWN reported earlier this week, a talmid of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita was arrested by authorities for failing to register for military service. The arrest was made on the night between Sunday and Monday, 29 Tishrei. It is reported the talmid learned in the past in Yeshivas Shaare Tevuna, and upon instructions from Rav Auerbach, he did not report as required when receiving one’s first draft notice.
