Investigators are looking into a deadly subway accident involving two MTA workers in Brooklyn early Thursday morning.
A New York City subway train has struck two Metropolitan Transportation Authority workers, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
Police say they found a 53-year-old man and a 49-year-old man suffering from injuries early Thursday at the Fort Hamilton Parkway and Church Avenue station.
The older man was declared dead at a hospital. The younger man has been hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities didn’t immediately identify the workers.
Police say a preliminary investigation found that a G train went around a curve and pinned the men while they were working at about 12:15 a.m.
The MTA tells WNBC-TV the workers were preparing a track area for overnight repairs.
The agency is investigating why the train was running while the workers were on the tracks.
