960 unauthorized eggs and a large quantity of meat were confiscated and destroyed by inspectors of the Ministry of Agriculture in the past week.

700kg of meat was confiscated from a butcher shop in Ashdod in the past week and 960 organic eggs with a forged inspection stamp were confiscated in Kiryat Arba. The eggs originated in a PA (Palestinian Authority) area. The eggs were marked as organic and they were intended to sell for NIS 25 a dozen as opposed to about NIS 1 an egg for regular eggs. The eggs were destroyed and one person was taken into custody.

400kg of meat was found in an Ashdod butcher shop, meat that originated in the PA. An additional 500kg of black market shechita meats were confiscated in Moshav Beit Elazri in the Shvelah. The meat was confiscated and destroyed and criminal charges are being filed against a man in his 50s.
