A garage in the Arab village of Luban Agarbiye near Beit Aryeh was set ablaze by Arabs close to midnight on Tuesday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan. The arson is attributed to a dispute between factions within the PA (Palestinian Authority).
Beit Aryeh Mayor Avi Naim received phone calls for distressed Arab villagers and he activated his fire and rescue personnel and they responded to the PA village. They succeeded in extinguishing the blaze and while damage was very significant, there were no injuries or loss of life.
Naim explained to the media there are many such incidents in which Jews come to the assistance of Arabs as when it comes to life-saving, no attention is paid victims being Jews or Arabs but to the sanctity of life.
