The Ministerial Law Committee earlier this week approved a bill initiated by MK (Bayit Yehudi) Shuli Muallem, a bill that enjoys widespread support in the Knesset. The bill will compel Israeli internet providers to change the default service setting. Instead of total access, unless explicitly requested, access to porn and violence will be blocked when clients hook up.
The Ministry of Communications is now objecting to the new regulation. The ministry feels this will lead to blocking sites that should not be blocked since the language of the bill in its definition of the filtering is too vague.

The Ministry of Communications is definitely right for objecting it. It might lead to political and right-wing blocking, just like they blocked right-wing radio media. Instead of unblocking the default, it should be the other way around; the consumer should request it.
