The Vaad Rabbonim for Shabbos is planning to convene on Tuesday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Marcheshvan and has invited representatives of El Al to attend the meeting. The meeting will be chaired by Rabbi Yitzchak Goldknoff, the head of the vaad.
Speaking with Noam Zeigman of Kol Berama Radio, Rabbi Goldknoff explained El Al representatives will be asked to explain why on this past erev Shabbos, 26 Tishrei, a flight from NYC and from Switzerland landed in Ben-Gurion Airport after candle lighting time while El Al reported the flight that originated in New York City landed minutes before candle lighting.
The El Al representatives will also be requested to explain why they report not operating on Shabbos while the Ports Authority shows El Al Shabbos flights. El Al maintains it is not operating the flights in question.
