Jerusalem Chief Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Aryeh Stern Shlita sent a letter of chizuk to Aaron and Yonatan Razel regarding the second hakofos in the Nachlaot area of the capital that were delayed by police.
As reported by YWN-ISRAEL police arrived and explained the event was taking place in a public area and therefore, a mechitzah is illegal since the law does not permit separating between men and women.
In his letter, Rabbi Stern expresses empathy for the situation and praised the fact they performed with a mechitzah, maintaining tznius during the event.

Is it illegal, or just no law for allowing one?
Of course a mechitzah is illegal in a so-called Jewish state that wants to separate religion and state.
Just like in the US where teachers and priests may not preach about Gd and in France the presidential candidate wants to stop Torah study.
In Israel-funding,laws, religion don’t mix well.
