Israel will be changing from daylight savings time to standard time this coming Motzei Shabbos, Parshas Bereshis. On Motzei Shabbos at 2:00AM, clocks are moved back an hour to 1:00AM. Sunrise in Yerushalayim on Sunday morning 28 Tishrei will be at 5:52AM according to the Itim L’Bina luach.
The changeover back to daylight savings time will take place on Thursday night the eve of 26 Adar 5777.

Does anyone remember when there was all this screaming gevalt by some ehrliche yidden who were predicting the end of the world because they might have to fast more daylight hours, including some talmedei chachamim who were outraged at having to fast an “extra hour”
