Trump, Escalating Rhetoric, Says Clinton ‘Has To Go To Jail’

trhilHis campaign struggling a month from Election Day, Donald Trump sharpened his rhetoric Wednesday from calling for Hillary Clinton’s defeat to declaring “she has to go to jail” for using a homebrew email server and other charges of corruption while she was secretary of state.

Trump told supporters at a rally in battleground Florida that the Justice Department’s handling of the probe into Clinton’s email server let her off the hook and suggested that both Democrats and Republicans in Congress went along with it. The Justice Department declined to prosecute Clinton, but FBI Director James Comey criticized her and her aides for being “extremely careless” with classified information.

“Did they make a deal where everybody protects each other in Washington?” Trump asked Wednesday.

“This corruption and collusion is just one more reason why I will ask my attorney general to appoint a special prosecutor,” to investigate Clinton and the fact that she apparently deleted thousands of emails that were never recovered, Trump said.

He later made clear: “She deleted the emails. She has to go to jail.”

The call was a dramatic escalation of rhetoric from Trump. Just after the Republican National Convention, Trump responded to his supporters’ chants of “lock her up” by suggesting “Let’s just beat her in November.”

At Sunday’s debate in St. Louis, the nominee himself made that very threat — an unprecedented break with U.S. political decorum. It came after Clinton had said it is “awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.”

Trump blasted back, “Because you’d be in jail.”

But Trump didn’t solely train his fire on his Democratic opponent.

Trump has complained bitterly in recent days about House Speaker Paul Ryan, who told Republican House members on Monday that he would focus on maintaining a majority in Congress and would no longer campaign for Trump. He noted that Ryan didn’t call and say “good going” after his performance in Sunday’s debate.

Trump claimed that there is a “whole sinister deal going on” that has prevented Ryan and other Republican leaders from fully backing his campaign but he didn’t elaborate.

  1. Obviously he doesn’t understand the law governing the appointment of a special prosecutor (that expired years ago) but beyond that, we are not some third-world republic or dictatorship where the winner either executes or jails his opponent. Apparently, we will not need to worry about this rant (or any others) since several additional women came forward motzi yom tov with documented allegations (verified at the time of the incident with third parties) that the Donald had molested them as well. Apparently, Trump’s response strategy is being coordinated by Roger Ailes who probably knows a little bit about sexual harassment.

  2. i’ve learned alot in the last couple of weeks, especially after the lastest wikileaks disclosures. in all probability, Trump will lose the election. but not because it was fair and square. Trump is running against an impossible liberal, leftist democratic machine that will stop at literally nothing to take Trump down. and it’s particularly sad that evidence shows that there are people in his own republican party that are “in” on this phony, crooked system. if Trump wins, it will be by sheer “Yad Hashem”. i just can’t imagine that lying crooked Hillary winning this race. Hashem Yishmor!

  3. First of all chaiml: he will lose because the majority of voters will be voting for another candidate.
Second, it’s funny because after he made this insane statement at the debate, the next day his campaign said it was a joke. Looks like he’s flip flopping yet again!

  4. The one thing I see here is that the commenters are people who pay attention to the mainstream media. Haven’t you people notice the Wikileaks leaks? Don’t you see what the Democrat Party really is? Why would anyone want anyone who’s the Democrat? Is Donald Trump the person with the best life long character in the whole wide world? NO, but you guys shouldn’t be the ones bringing up character because you voted for Barack Hussein Obama 4 and 8 years ago!!

  5. To #4, youtumah

Your name befits you. Your language is tuma, and the candidate you support is a tamai liberal (in sheep’s clothing).

BTW, I hate both of them and support none of them. I want a real conservative, not some big-talking shyster who will say what you want to hear.

  6. #7 , i totally agree with you i am also a real conservative . I just cannot stomach frum jews who support the MOST IMMORAL ISSUES TO DATE ! Rabbi A Miller a’H would be turning over in his grave from our so called frum yiddens choices.
