Ben-Gurion Airport To Shut Down For Yom Kippur


bgaOn Tuesday 9 Tishrei, at 11:10AM, Ben-Gurion International Airport will begin shutting for Yom Kippur. The last arrival is scheduled for 1:30PM and the last takeoff is set for 1:55PM.

On motzei Yom Kippur, the first landing is scheduled for 10:30PM and the first takeoff is scheduled for 11:30PM.

Airport officials report that erev Yom Kippur will be busy with an expected 46,000 people passing through on 284 flights.

On motzei Yom Kippur, 78,330 passengers will pass through on 463 flights. On Sunday 14 Tishrei, erev Sukkos, an additional 70,571 passengers are expected on 428 flights and on Thursday Chol Hamoed Sukkos, an additional 78,356 passengers will pass through on 466 flights.

During Tishrei, 1.7 million passengers will have passed through the airport, representing an 8% increase from the same time period last year.
