Efforts to bring an end to the strife between Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and the Degel Hatorah members of his coalition continue. Life for Degel Hatorah members of the coalition has not been easy as the mayor has been less than cordial towards them and the party.
A meeting is set with the mayor on Monday evening 16 Elul which will be attended by HaGaon HaRav David Cohen Solovechik, HaGaon HaRav Yosef Efrati, Deputy Mayor Yitzchak Pindrus and Councilmen Eliezer Ruchberger and Yisrael Kellerman. MK Yisrael Asher will be joining the meeting as well.
Due to ongoing machlokes between the mayor and the chareidi party, Mr. Barkat has been more than pleased leaving Yahadut Hatorah out in the cold at every given opportunity.

Maybe, just maybe, you mean Rav Baruch Soloveitchik, Rosh Yeshivas Toras Zev, who is known to be one of the gedolim of Yerushalayim entrusted by Rav Shteinman to oversee Degel HaTorah municipal issues.
