The following is a message that was sent to all parents of the Elizabeth Jewish Educational Center on Monday morning following the terror scare in the city:

The safety of our students is our number one priority.

To that end, the Jewish Educational Center has been in contact with the Elizabeth Police Department and the Mayor of Elizebeth’s Office, which both assured the school that there will e bolstered police presence throughout Elizabeth and they would be patrolling the areas surrounding our two campuses.

They have assured us that all schools in the City of Elizabeth are open as normal, that it is safe to go to school this morning, and that there have been no direct threats to schools in the city.

Please do not hesitate to be in touch should you have any questions or concerns. The safety of our students, faculty and visitors is our first priority.
