Authorities are urgently searching for a “person of interest” in the New York City explosion, identified as 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami, according to a memo circulated by the NYPD.
The FBI also released a wanted poster for Rahami with his photo, saying he is “wanted for questioning” related to the bombing. Rahami is a U.S. citizen originally born in Afghanistan, the FBI said. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The address of a home being searched by FBI agents in Elizabeth, New Jersey is linked to a person with a similar name.
An emergency alert was sent out this morning asking people to call 9-1-1 if Rahami was seen.

The stupid decision to eliminate monitoring of the various Islamic mosdos makes it more difficult to track these guys. While there were some excesses in the NYPD policies of racial profiling, monitoring of known terrorist breeding grounds makes absolute sense except for some naïve civil libertarians. Hopefully, the events of the past weekend will result in reinstating some form of the program as it existed prior to De Blasio taking office.

The FBI just acknowledged that they caught this guy as a result of an anonymous phone-tip from a caller named Moishele directing them to some treife chicken restaurant in Linden. We are all indebted to your insight knowing before anyone else that he was a terrorist. Your forensic skills obviously exceed those of our nation’s security experts.
