Watch: Paying it forward— Israel style. What would happen if every time someone did a good deed, to begin a chain reaction of kindness?
This group of Israelis decided to find out.

That is a beautiful thing and surely give the Ribono Shel Olam much nachas!
It is very special, and to me a sign of their “Pinteleh Yid.” Not because of the idea of being kind; “do random acts of kindness” and “passing it forward” are not new concepts. Rather, because of the sparks you see in their eyes when they are doing a kindness, and how their kindnesses are received. We are b’nei Avraham and have chessed in our genes. That being said, I am hoping to see public evidence that these kindnesses are crossing fences, i.e. folks such as those in the video doing kindnesses to those they have often been taught to disdain and disrespect, chareidim. Plenty of opportunities – in stores, on the street, on buses, etc. And finally lets pray that this movement may lead to a meaningful wave of people understanding to “BE KIND” because it is a mitzvah, and something that Hashem wants from us.
It’s a marvelous idea that is so appropriate for the month of Ellul. However, it’s worth mentioning that frum Jews have been doing this since Matan Torah. It’s a radical new idea only for those who are living without Torah, r”l. We ought to daven that this awakening will lead to a general re-evaluation of chiloni life and spur the participants on to restore their relationship with Hashem. כן יהא רצון.
