On one of his visits to Har Habayis, Bentzi Gupstein recited Shema Yisrael aloud while members of his group pulled out an Israeli flag.

Gupstein and two others were immediately arrested by police.

They were subjected to a degrading body search in jail and decided to file a lawsuit against police. Attorney Itamar Ben-Givir filed the suit on their behalf claiming their arrest was unjustified and the body search illegal as well as an affront to their personal dignity.

The state agreed to compensate them and after negotiations the sum of NIS 30,000 was found mutually agreeable.

Gupstein explained he will use his money to continue the work of his Lehava organization that fights assimilation.
