Shas leader Aryeh Deri responded to a Channel 2 poll that shows if elections were held today, Yesh Atid would emerge the largest party, not Likud, with Lapid earning 24 seats and Likud only 22.

Speaking to Betzalel Kahn of Kol Chai Radio on Wednesday morning 4 Elul, Deri stated in the next elections his party will back Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu again. Deri told the tzibur not to rely heavily on polls, citing in the US presidential elections Clinton was leading Trump by 15 points two weeks again and today, Trump is ahead.

Deri added that he remains confident this coalition will complete its term and elections are some two years away.
