HaGaon HaRav Bentzion Mutzafi recently announced that he feels flying to Uman or other kivrei tzaddikim is pritzus and insanity. The rav’s commented he felt women should not be traveling to Uman because it is pritzus. He was asked to comment on a trip exclusively for women, removing the fear of pritzus. The rav commented “pritzus and insanity. We have lost all proportions…”
The rav now reveals since announcing his psak he has received threats and he afraid for his own safety.
The rav explains he was recently asked about someone’s 21-year-old son, a talmid yeshiva, who two years ago left yeshiva and has been on a downward spiral. “We are not Breslover, but they recommend he fly to Uman for Rosh Hashanah explaining there he will have a hisorarus. What does the rav feel?
The rav now explains he fears for his safety and therefore does not wish to respond to the question posed. “These are violent people” he adds.

It’s said that in our days as soon as someone expresses a different opinion they are subjected to threats. This is not Yiddishkeit.
Furthermore, those hoodlums are disparaging Rav Nachman’s name through their threats to this Gadol. Anybody who has ever read about the life of Rav Nachman knows that this was not his derech. Shame on them!

Is “a hisorarus” the new frum way of saying he will get high on drugs. Unfortunately if this young man goes to Uman the lowlife followers of Berland are likely to be those he will consort with. Just to remind YWN readers, some two and a half years ago two Breslov hasidim from Berland’s Shuvu Banim cult were sentenced to 3.5 years prison in Spain for drug smuggling. The two were arrested after entering Spain from Morocco [where they had been with Berland] with a large amount of illegal drugs.

if you tell any normal rosh yeshiva that you are leaving yeshiva and going to uman for rosh hashana he will look at you like youve lost your mind.
its sad what uman has become R”L people don’t go for rav nachman they go for the entertainment. thats insane & how low we have sunk. entertainment on the day of judgement & on yom kippur?
