Police are already working with engineering consultants as an investigation into the collapse of the Nechoshet Street construction site in Tel Aviv continues. At least four people have died in the collapse as the IDF Homefront Command search & rescue team and ZAKA continue working to extricate a number of people still missing following the collapse of the four-story underground parking lot under construction.
Early into the investigation police learned that the Danya Cebus Company building the parking lot is already under investigation in three other sites, allegedly for failure to comply with the safety regulations and the law. A number of accidents occurred in the other sites, as well as the one which collapsed on Monday. A serious accident was reported at that location in May 2016 as well. In short, Danya Celbus sites reported numerous accidents in the past half year, including at least three serious ones.
Company officials insist they are law-abiding and all accidents were reported as required and they operate sites in the fullest compliance possible with safety and legal regulations. Company officials add the safety of its employees remains paramount.
